Common Issue of Control Valves Inclued

• Spool Jamming or Sticking

  The main control spool may become stuck due to contamination from metal particles, varnish buildup, or water ingress in the hydraulic fluid. This prevents smooth directional control, causing erratic cylinder movement, unresponsive controls, or complete loss of function in specific circuits. Severe cases may require complete valve disassembly and cleaning.
• Internal Leakage and Pressure Loss

  Wear between the spool and valve body bore creates excessive internal clearances, allowing high-pressure oil to bypass internally. This results in reduced system pressure, slower cylinder speeds, poor load-holding capability (cylinder drift), and increased hydraulic oil temperature due to energy loss. Performance degradation is often gradual but progressive.

• Seal and O-Ring Failure

  The valve's static and dynamic seals, including O-rings, backup rings, and wear bands, can harden, crack, or extrude due to aging, high temperature, or chemical incompatibility with hydraulic fluids. Failed seals cause external leaks, allow air ingress (leading to foaming and cavitation), and contribute to internal leakage between valve sections.
