Q: Is this quick coupler safe? Could the attachment detach during operation?
A: Extremely safe. This coupler features a dual-lock design: after the hydraulic locking hook pulls the attachment pin into position, the mechanical safety pin automatically engages to secure the hook. Even if the hydraulic system completely fails (e.g., a burst hose), the safety pin remains locked-the attachment will never accidentally detach. An indicator light can also be installed in the cab to confirm the safety pin is fully engaged.
Q: What attachments is this quick coupler compatible with?
A: This coupler uses a standard pin interface and is compatible with most attachments available for the CAT 328 excavator, including: standard buckets, rock buckets, ditching buckets, hydraulic breakers, hydraulic shears, grapples, vibratory compactors, screening buckets, and more. As long as the attachment's pin diameter and spacing match Caterpillar OEM specifications, it will connect quickly and securely.
Q: Will installation affect the excavator's digging force?
A: Negligible impact. The quick coupler is installed between the arm and bucket, adding approximately 150-250mm (6-10 inches) of extension length. This has a very minor effect on digging force (typically less than 5%), which is barely noticeable during normal operation. Compared to traditional pin-on attachments, the efficiency gains far outweigh this minimal performance trade-off.
