Correct selection of hydraulic pump oil

If the viscosity is too low, it will increase internal and external leakage in the hydraulic pump and system, reducing pump efficiency, increasing power loss, accelerating wear on moving parts, and raising oil temperature. If the viscosity is too high, it will increase the resistance to hydraulic oil intake, increasing pressure loss in the pump and system, leading to excessively high oil temperature and noise.
Therefore, the selection of hydraulic oil should be based on a comprehensive consideration of factors such as the type of hydraulic pump, operating temperature, operating pressure, and economic efficiency. The recommended grades and specifications in the pump manufacturer's catalog and instruction manual should also be considered. Generally, the applicable viscosity range should be determined first, followed by the hydraulic oil grade. Commonly used hydraulic oils on the market include environmentally acceptable hydraulic oils, high-pressure anti-wear hydraulic oils, and detergent hydraulic oils.
