Four Core Functions of Oil cooler Core
Damage: Over time, carbon deposits, gum deposits, or metal shavings in the oil cooler core gradually accumulate in the narrow channels, reducing the flow cross-section, increasing oil flow resistance, and significantly decreasing cooling efficiency. In severe cases, this can lead to excessively high oil temperatures.
Repair: Remove the cooler core and use a professional cleaning agent to circulate and flush or soak it to remove internal deposits. If the blockage is severe and cannot be cleared, the cooler core must be replaced. Simultaneously, identify and eliminate the source of oil contamination.
Damage: Under the high-frequency pulsating pressure of the engine or hydraulic system and the vibration of the entire machine, the metal walls of the cooler core are prone to fatigue cracks or detachment of brazed joints, leading to oil leakage to the outside, resulting in reduced oil volume and environmental pollution.
Repair: Minor leaks can be repaired by welding, but the effect is limited. For significant leaks, it is recommended to replace the entire cooler core assembly to ensure sealing and reliability.
Damage: The harsh working environment of excavators means that rocks, branches, and other debris can easily impact the cooling fins on the outside of the cooler core, causing them to fold, deform, or break. This disrupts airflow, reduces the heat dissipation area, and leads to increased oil temperature.
Repair: Carefully straighten the folded fins using a special fin comb to restore airflow. For severe damage or large areas of missing fins, the cooler core must be replaced, and a protective mesh should be considered.
Damage: The oil inlet and outlet connections of the cooler core are mostly threaded or flanged. Long-term exposure to oil pressure and installation stress can easily lead to stripped threads, worn sealing surfaces, or cracked flanges, causing oil leaks.
Repair: Inspect the interface threads and sealing surfaces. For minor damage, replace the gasket or use sealant. If the threads are severely damaged or cracked, the cooler core must be replaced. When reinstalling, tighten to the specified torque, avoiding excessive force.
