A: Possibly. Transfer pump failure (such as gear wear causing insufficient pressure/flow) is a common cause of hard starting and power loss. However, we recommend systematic diagnosis:
1) Check if the fuel filter is clogged;
2) Use a pressure gauge to measure transfer pump outlet pressure (should be 5-7 bar at idle);
3) Inspect fuel lines for leaks or blockages. If insufficient transfer pump pressure is confirmed, this product is the ideal direct replacement.
Q:What is the difference between this transfer pump and the high-pressure pump?
A:They serve different functions. The transfer pump (also called fuel supply pump) draws fuel from the tank and delivers it to the high-pressure pump at approximately 5-7 bar. The high-pressure pump then pressurizes the fuel to 1600-2000 bar for the injectors. Both are essential, but this product is the transfer pump, not the high-pressure pump.
Q:What is the most important consideration during installation?
A:Fuel system cleanliness and bleeding are absolutely critical!
1) Thoroughly clean all fuel line connections before installation-any contaminants entering the system will damage the transfer pump and injectors;
2) Thoroughly bleed the system after installation-air residue can cause hard starting or rough operation;
