Common faults of Pressure Sensor include
Signal Drift And Calibration Shift
Thermal Cycling: Constant heating during operation and cooling during shutdown causes expansion and contraction in the sensor's internal components, leading to material fatigue and calibration drift over time.
Media Temperature Variation: Extreme changes in hydraulic oil temperature affect the fill fluid inside the sensor, causing a shift in the output signal.

Erratic Output, Signal Dropout, or Zero Signal
Vibration: Excavators generate intense, constant vibration, leading to loose connectors, broken wires, or chafed insulation.
Corrosion & Contamination: Water, dirt, and salt can ingress into connectors, causing short circuits, high resistance, or open circuits.
Electrical Noise (EMI/RFI): High-current solenoids, starter motors, and welding equipment on or near the machine generate electromagnetic interference. This noise can corrupt the sensor's low-voltage analog signal.

Mechanical Damage And Catastrophic Failure
Pressure Spikes (Water Hammer): The rapid closing of hydraulic control valves creates instantaneous pressure spikes that can far exceed the sensor's maximum rating, rupturing the diaphragm.
Overpressure: Operating the machine beyond its rated capacity or a system relief valve failure can expose the sensor to sustained overpressure.
Physical Impact: Damage from tools during maintenance or direct impact with rocks or debris on the worksite.
Improper Installation: Cross-threading or over-torquing during installation, which damages the housing and creates internal stress points.

Clogging And Media Incompatibility
Fluid Contamination: Metal particles, seal debris, or other contaminants in the hydraulic oil can completely block the tiny pressure port of the sensor.
Chemical Degradation: The sensor's "wetted parts" (materials that contact the hydraulic fluid) are incompatible with the fluid type or additives, leading to corrosion, swelling, or dissolution.
